Robust hybrid hall with smart light admission

If you are looking for a building that needs to be a little more durable and withstand a harsher environment, then a metal hall is something to consider.  It is a quick, rational, and above all, economical solution to most space problems, such as warehouses, sales and production premises, etc. Metal buildings have many advantages over conventional buildings, including large, open floor spaces without obstructive pillars, maintenance-free materials, and short construction times. In addition, the building can easily be extended or moved.

A metal hall is basically the same as a warehouse, which means that it is available in the same sizes as a warehouse. The standard width is between 8 and 40 meters, and the length is optional, divided into 4-meter sections. The frame consists of a sturdy steel structure that we dimension based on the snow zone that applies to your municipality. Metal buildings are available in a variety of colors, making them easy to adapt to your other buildings.

The hall's sheet metal walls reduce the risk of vandalism and break-ins if the hall is located outside a fenced area. The sheet metal hall can be customized to your exact needs. We can install windows and various types of doors, such as overhead doors, folding doors, and pedestrian doors. If the hall needs to be accessed from another building, we can build a connecting passageway in the same material, or it can be docked directly onto an existing building.                                                                    

What are the advantages of PMH metal buildings compared to conventional metal buildings?

A PMH metal hall has many advantages over a conventional metal building. First and foremost, it is much brighter than a conventional metal hall with a metal roof, as the white fabric roof allows 80% of daylight to enter the hall and illuminate the entire area. If you want more light, and also to be able to see properly during the dark hours of the day, you can install lighting in the ceiling. The metal hall is as airtight as a PMH warehouse, even though we combine a harder material in the walls with a softer material in the ceiling.  The advantage of it being airtight is that it is suitable for dehumidification, which means that moisture-sensitive materials can also be stored in the metal hall. A metal roof is prone to rust due to all the weather and wind it is exposed to, but this is not a problem with a fabric roof. The entire structure is actually maintenance-free.

The foundation on which the hall is built does not require as much work as a conventional building. The metal hall can be assembled directly on existing ground without a plinth foundation, which makes the groundwork much cheaper and the construction time significantly shorter than for a conventional building. If you later want to move the hall or extend it, this is fairly easy to arrange!

Surface layer

The metal hall combines the advantages of a metal hall and a storage tent. The walls are clad with 0.6 mm thick profiled sheet metal with a polyester coating in any standard color in a thickness of 25 my. The roof consists of white hall fabric that is partially transparent and lets in plenty of daylight, making the hall bright and pleasant during the day without the need for lighting. The roof fabric is coated to ensure that the surface retains its beneficial properties, such as dirt repellency.

Frame & surface treatment

The frame of the warehouse consists of cold-formed steel profiles that are surface-treated with hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with SS-EN ISO 1461, corresponding to minimum corrosion class C3. This means that the frame has a very long service life and high resistance to corrosion, even in aggressive environments. The chemical reaction between zinc and iron creates a self-healing effect if minor damage occurs to the surface layer.

Roof drainage

The metal hall can be equipped with roof drainage. The hall is then equipped with the required number of downpipes and gutters. The downpipes can be connected to underground pipes if these are available or installed in connection with other ground works. Alternatively, the downpipes can be equipped with ejectors for water drainage to a well or similar. The color of the gutters and downspouts can be customized as desired; they are white or black as standard.

Foundation

There are many different options for the foundation of the metal hall.

1. Level, well-packed/compacted gravel surface.

2. Existing or new balanced asphalt surface.

3. Solid concrete slab.

4. Prefabricated or cast-in-place concrete foundation.

On gravel or asphalt surfaces, anchoring is achieved using anchor bolts or ground anchors that are driven into the ground and expanded. On concrete surfaces, anchoring is achieved using cast-in bolt groups or expansion/chemical anchors.
